After 3 years of my original purchase, I’ve decided to take advantage of the summer sale and make some improvements in my wallet. Got the carbon fiber closed cover plate and it feels more sturdy, offering an extra layer of privacy and security. Also got a new pull strap, elastic band and 3D printed airtag cash clip. Still looks amazing. This is, by far, the best minimalist wallet in the market. It has german quality and precision engineering. Can’t go wrong. Only wish they had a double carbon fiber coin holder and a carbon fiber inner space frame to match the entire wallet. I’m pretty sure they will, eventually, create these items. But my dream wallet is the Titanium version, but its very expensive. Maybe one day…

I bought the closed cover plate for my slide because it looks more finished that way and I don't use the thumbslot at all. It's, like the aviator itself, high quality with a sublime brushed finish. Love how the wallet looks now with the closed plate. Keep up the good work!

I ordered the closed cover plate for my wallet after watching several videos, that I found on the web, reviewing the new 'slide' wallet. It seems that in the past, the thumb window was very useful, as it was the only way to get cards out. Aviator has now improved their own wallet when the 'Slide' was created. I watched review, after review - and no one ever used the thumb window anymore, but simply pulled the strap, to access the cards. I decided that the closed cover plate would add just a little more privacy to the wallet and give it a cleaner design and look. I thought that it also might let less lint/dust from your pocket, inside of the wallet. I am really happy with this decision. The people at Aviator installed my cover plate, upon request. They sent the thumb window plate and extra screws if I ever change my mind. But I have always been able to easily access all my cards, and have never missed the thumb plate not being there. I think that my wallet looks much better with the closed cover plate. I wanted a black wallet, so the only color offered, worked with my new order. However, I think Avaitor should offer the closed cover plate in all the colors that they sell. It would not look as slick if it did not match the other side of the wallet.

Best slim wallet ever. Credit card footprint. No excess wasted space. Best design for looks and function. Best German handmade. All the other brands and type can not compare to this. EZ access to cards and security from rfid. Only wallet to buy.

This wallet is well built. I like the ability to accommodate more cards by adjusting the elastic band. I chose the closed cover plate option for added privacy. I am using the coin tray for cash and by not adding the money clip, it reduces the overall bulk of the wallet. By no means is this wallet large. It fits very well in a pocket. Great product!!
So far I really love my aviator slide wallet. It’s very unique and materials are of superior quality. I included a picture of the back of wallet with the plate cover. I think it really completes the wallet, overall Very happy with the wallet and back cover plate. Highly recommended to anyone and everyone!

I figured that since the pull tab is what sold me on the Aviator Slide, I'd go with the closed coverplate. There really isn't much to say. It does what is advertised. Only real thing to note is that when I got the wallet, the closed plate was already installed and the default one with the thumb slot was included separate. I'll be honest.. I was expecting to have to install the solid plate myself, despite them customizing the internal workings of the wallet and such to the card size that I selected. The little things, man. That was insanely appreciated. Took off a star because it's only available in obsidian black.

I purchased the carbon fiber slide wallet and it wasn’t cheap! I love everything about the wallet except for the space for thumb slide. This was awful because sweat would collect on my first card where the thumb slot was. I looked on their site and found that they sold a full cover plate without the slot, the only problem was that they only sold it in one material and color. I just paid for a carbon fiber wallet that wasn’t cheap and now it doesn’t match with the other half of my wallet. This company needs to make accessories that are well rounded for all of their customers. I spoke to someone in customer service but they were uninterested in stepping up to the plate to make the appropriate changes to their product. If you plan on purchasing a wallet that isn’t the base model you will be disappointed.
This cover plate is a 1 and done for me it's made of cheap grade flimsy aluminum it nicks and chips really easy and the customer service offers a life time accidental warranty which they do not follow through with shame on them so if you buy this buy 2 to have a extra
